Cupola Gallery is very lively and friendly with a reputation for quality shows and innovation. With four exhibition spaces plus a fabulous sculpture garden the gallery stocks work from more than 300 local national and international artists and makers.

Cupola is also committed to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere and to that end provides free chocolate cake every Saturday and free hot drinks to all our visitors. And children are always welcome.

Exhibition schedules are printed and distributed widely, but all are welcome to join our free mailing list for up to the minute information about exhibitions and events as well as invitations to our opening evenings.

Cupola Gallery (established 1991) has changed. After 18 successful years, having grown from small beginnings to become the largest, most respected private contemporary gallery in the north of England, its founder and director, Karen Sherwood, has made the decision to re-establish Cupola as a not for profit social enterprise. The new social enterprise will enable the gallery to continue to grow and benefit artists and the communities it serves.
