Charlotte Whitmore

Jeweller

"I have been making accessories for myself and presents for family and friends from my mid-teens, which led to a degree in 3D Design specialising in jewellery and metalwork. I then went on to teach design for 12 years, picking up more craft skills along the way, including blacksmithing and welded sculpture.

I have recently taken time out to bring up my two girls and now they are at school, I can indulge in my love of craft again.

I like to work in a variety of disciplines to keep my work fresh. I work with a wide range materials from fabric and leather, to silver and semi-precious stones. I often base my designs around materials I have found, such as the leather offcuts I bought recently from a motorbike outfitters. I hate waste and this is a great way of up-cycling materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Many of the pieces I produce are one-offs or small runs, so you are very likely to find something unique." Charlotte Whitmore
