"At the end of July 2006 and my interest in art in general, sculpture in particular, became my profession.
I learnt to weld for a practical purpose however my practice pieces slowly began to develop into birds and flowers. A friend bemoaning the difficulty of finding that special gift ended with a commission and my interest in sculpture began.
Where possible I use found metal, recycling industry’s waste in my work. The majority of my work contains 100% recycled material, which I feel is important. I have a strong green streak running through me. My trading name - frailloop - is used to reflect my view of the world and the fragile links that holds the environment together." - Gavin Darby
