Painter.
As a semi-abstract artist, my paintings are an emotional response to landscapes, seascapes, memories of travel and how it feels to be there in the moment. To be amongst natures elements both rugged and beautiful, a place that lifts the senses with temperamental weather, changeable light and a vast sense of space.
I use colour, intuitive, expressive marks and surface texture to capture mood, energy and drama, building up layers of paint and mixed media to create a balance between explorative, gesture and structure.
As a full-time artist living in Yorkshire, I’ve exhibited at various galleries around the UK and you can find my current work on Instagram or Facebook as sueripleyart.
