"I have been fascinated by the underbelly of the world since university and what we cannot see to the naked eye and the dichotomy between cause and effect as human beings. My past work has explored such ideas through the world of microscopy and satellite images which allowed the audience to engage with a new reality framed by the artwork. Three years ago I decided I needed to collaborate with academics to really immerse myself in cutting edge research in order to create work with a specific context rather than the broader sweep I had been working on. Following a successful grants for the arts application to Arts Council England I began a partnership with a series of academics/students at the University of Sheffield. The project Revelation was developed exploring bio engineering, regenerative medicine and now Reproduction to both inspire the creation of new art work and to present the research to a wider audience. This body of work has challenged my practice to use all kinds of mixed media and introduced more painterly techniques as the work has evolved. "
