Artist Statement
"My work is mainly concerned with painting itself, how so much can be conveyed on a flat surface with jus pigment, and how the human brain will always strive to make sense of an image and connect personally with it. I borrow images from art history, popular culture, history, science and many other sources. I allow my environment, current interests, thoughts, memories and world events to permeate my work, making them become quite personal works with one painting leading naturally on to another. My aim is that, without explanation from me, the viewer will connect with my work and recognise something of or for themselves in the paintings."
