Printmaking & Collage workshop

Saturday 7 August – drop in workshop - 11-4pm

Printmaking & Collage with Sam Groom

Creating prints and collages using the numbers 30 - 1991 - 2021, as a starting point for playful exploration into shape, pattern, colour, composition, abstraction, positive and negative space, movement and emotion.

Sam will be exploring and demonstrating ideas for printing and collaging. She will experiment with mark making both into pre-cut surfaces and also through application of the shapes onto paper, playing with positive and negative shapes and patterns, with layering, offsetting, positives, negatives, symmetry, etc.

Visitors will be encouraged to try creating their own abstract designs alongside the opportunity to use pre-cut numbers, large ink stamp pads/palettes with paint or ink and mark making tools. Coloured paper, scissors, glue, etc will also be available for people to create their own collage work. People can collaborate, maybe add to an incomplete piece on display or make their own individual pieces. Take away your creation at the end of your session * if you want to. :)

Suitable for all ages. No need to book. Simply drop in.
